Happy Thanksgiving!

It has been a crazy, whirlwind of a year. When I look back to what I was doing last Thanksgiving, I recall the snow and TWO Thanksgiving dinners with both of my amazing families. This year is quite different and I find myself more emotional than expected. I am trying to remember to be happy that my family can spend today together, instead of be sad that I am on the other side of the nation.

Regardless, I have SO much to be thankful for this year. I love my life. Every single bit of it. My family, friends, and my soon-to-be husband who brings light to every situation, good or bad. I honestly couldn't survive so far from my family without him. And also, I am thankful for my pup, Luna. Her excitement to see me when I walk in the door makes me beyond happy. She's the best. I'm so blessed.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Enjoy today and eat lots of good food!

Chicago Snaps

Hi, Friends! I'm back from Chicago! The trip was so much fun! We ate some amazing food (one morning we had "fruishi" for breakfast--fruit sushi. Amazing!), did some shopping and walked through the city, numerous times.
Chicago made me a little home sick, the Chicago skyline reminded me that I live in a very small town in Florida... And I kind of miss being in the city. But it's either the beach or the city and for now, I'll take the beach :)
On our trip, we went on one of the architecture boat tours. This was the highlight of the trip for me! I got to see more of Chicago than I ever imagined. Chicago is an amazing, breathe-taking city.
Cheers!

In just a few short hours, I am jetting off to Chicago for a few days. I've never visited the city before, and I have to say, I am very excited to taste some of the delicious food :) I hear my taste buds are in for a treat. So ta-ta for now, my friends! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Wedding (Almost) Wednesday

Hello, lovelies! It didn't take me long to get in full swing of wedding planning. Because I am crazy, and planning an Oregon wedding from Florida, we haven't set a date yet or picked a venue (yeah, I know--already stressing me out). But I am going back to Oregon in a few weeks and will hopefully set some of the bigger details nailed down! Until then, here are some wedding images I am seriously digging:

St. Pete Pier

We took a drive down to St. Petersburg, about a half hour from us, to check out the Pier. Before we moved here, I did a lot of research on the area and numerously the St. Pete Pier appeared on my Google search, raving about its activities, restaurants and shops. We didn't get a chance to experience the activities (I think we were there at the wrong time, and it's summer, way too hot for strolling outside for too long). The little shops display cute collectors items and fun t-shirt souvenirs. The restaurants overlook the bay so you can watch the hundreds of sailboats.

Busy Blogger

Hi Friends! Things have been crazy down here in Florida. We are finally settled into our apartment (after a month of waiting) and I am only now getting to sit down and take in my surroundings. I am loving this place thus far, the atmosphere, the sunshine and the beach--they all make me smile. I am enjoying not having to wear a coat whenever I leave the house; I am getting to break out all of my dresses and skirts that I never really wore while in Oregon! The pool is always an option as entertainment, as well as the beautiful white sandy beaches beaches! We are going to take a bike ride to the beach later and stop for a yummy and refreshing drink...perhaps something with an umbrella in it :)
Now that I have time to sit down and relax, I am starting the wedding planning, full blast. Stay tuned for more :)

We're Engaged!

So I realize that I have been pretty MIA in the blogging world lately... I miss all of you! The moving company has yet to make it here with all of our stuff... air mattress it is! We are busy exploring our new home town. I have fallen in love already--although I have been told that Summer gets worse (much hotter) but we are enjoying ourselves for now (the new job is amazing, in case you were wondering! I feel right at home :)
So, as you can tell, WE'RE ENGAGED! Holy moly, it's so exciting! And I am so happy!! We are in the process of putting all of our (but mostly mine) ideas together, setting a date, etc. The most stressful part of it all is that I will be living in Florida and planning a wedding that will happen in Oregon (where all of our family is). But, I am going to ROCK IT (I just keep telling myself this). :) I hope all is well with all of you! And as soon as I am finally settled, I promise to kick out some great wedding posts, as well as some Florida adventures!
